Last April I was tasked with helping to plan my company’s management & director conference. We are a large alcohol distribution company that has close to 100 brands under our umbrella. Both Brian (GM of hotel bar) and Tracey (Event manager for the hotel) were beyond helpful in setting up our 3-day meetings. With a group like ours, it is imperative that our products be available on-site for our staff and for our suppliers. The Delta hotel helped us with some of the more obscure items and changed some key products behind their bar to accommodate our group. They also allowed me to be on site talking and training the staff with some of the newer items, which was greatly appreciated.

We also hosted a large 100+ person dinner on the night of our group’s arrival (from across North America). The GM and Chef both worked with me on making a menu that fit our diverse crew and had recommendations for executing a group of this size. The staff at were upbeat and fun, while the service was fantastic. The room is fun and very unique for this area of Calgary with bocce ball and shuffleboard available. Our team’s conference went off without a hitch and we have been back hosting at the Delta Southland Drive twice since then.

Southland Yard has everything you would want. The food is delicious (I could go on and on about the fried chicken, quinoa salad or the signature ice cream dish with deliciously boozy cherries), they have a fantastic selection of craft beer and games, and the genuinely friendly staff make you feel like you never want to leave. We host meetings at the Delta South throughout the year and have hosted team-building events at Southland Yard. It has become our “go-to” place as it works well for out of town guests as well as locals. The service and food is above and beyond our expectations every time and we will continue to use them in the future.

Phenomenal atmosphere, and service. The food is delicious. They have a nice patio and fun games to play. I will definitely be back soon and enthusiastically recommending in the meantime.
